Great News For SIT

Invercargill news

I’m very pleased to hear of the new alliance between the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) and an Indonesian private polytechnic – it is great news for Invercargill.

SIT and LP3i signed a Memorandum of Understanding today in Invercargill.

The work SIT has done to develop relationships, particularly in Asia, has deepened not only SIT’s student base, but also adds to Invercargill’s cultural richness.

LP3i has 10,000 graduates every year from 26 campuses in Indonesia.  The news that SIT has established a stair case option for LP3i diploma graduates to study at SIT to complete a degree in Commerce, Applied Management or Hotel Management is indicative of the standard and quality of SIT’s courses internationally.

The National Government has a goal of doubling the total value of international education to $5 billion by 2025, as set out in Government’s Business Growth Agenda.  SIT is contributing to this through alliances such as the one with LP3i, and I look forward to meeting the first students taking part in this exchange.
